POLICY AND PLANNING SECTIONS

DIVISION OVERVIEW

OBJECTIVE

To provide expertise and services in policy, planning, budgeting preparation; and Research and innovation.

FUNCTIONS

This Division will perform the following functions:

To coordinate preparations of plans, budget and ministerial policies in line with the National Planning Frameworks
To analyze policies from other sectors and advise accordingly
To coordinate research on Ministerial policies and sector related functions for the development of the respective sector
To coordinate implementation of the Government’s policy, research technological development and innovation in the Ministry
To coordinate preparations of Budget Speech for the Ministry
To develop guidelines on research and innovation matters for the Ministry
To coordinate Ministry Service Delivery Survey
To coordinate Ministry Self-Assessment (Institution Self-Assessment)
To mobilize resources for implementation of Ministry’s initiatives
To coordinate risk management processes within the Ministry
To coordinate implementation of ruling part manifesto, Government directives and parliamentary affairs
To coordinate preparations of periodic performance reports for the Ministry.

PROJECT UNDER THE DIVISION

Project Name: Southern Tanzania Tourism Development Project

Objective:

To promote and strengthen key tourism infrastructure (opening roads and entry gates) as well as open up new tourism areas.

Implementation Areas:

Mikumi National Park (Kilosa District), Ruaha National Park (Mbarali District), Katavi National Park, Kitulo National Park, Southern part of Nyerere National Park, Mpanga Kipengere Game Reserve and Selous Game Reserve.
