RESEARCH AND TRAINING UNIT

UNIT OVERVIEW

Led by a Director

Objective of Research and training Unit is to provide expertise in research, statistics and coordination of training institutions under the Ministry.

Unit Structure

The unit is led  by Director with officers from four Departments includes:

  • Tourism
  • Wildlife
  • Forestry and Beekiping
  • Antiquties

FUNCTIONS

This Unit will perform the following functions:

  1. Identify areas of research in Sectors under the Ministry and coordinate research undertaken by individuals, institutions and organizations;
  2. Collect and maintain data for wildlife, tourism, antiquities, forest and beekeeping sub-sectors;
  3. Coordinate preparation of Ministry’s statistical bulletin (tourism, wildlife, antiquities, forest and beekeeping) and disseminate to relevant authorities and stakeholders;
  4. Coordinate development of training curriculum for training institutions under the Ministry;
  5. Coordinate and monitor wildlife, tourism, antiquities, bee keeping and forestry training;
  6. Develop extension services programs on sectors under the Ministry;
  7. Oversee implementation of activities of Research and Training Institutions under the Ministry; and
  8. Evaluate and assess wildlife, tourism, antiquities and forestry status.

TOURISM STATISTICS IN TANZANIA

  • Includes number of international tourist arrivals
  • International and domestic tourist visiting Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), Mamlaka ya Usimamizi wa Wanyamapori Tanzania (TAWA), Tanzania Forestry Services(TFS) na National Museum of Tanzania (NMT).
